Ten Days in Israel

Nina, our tour guide for the trip

January 1st we toured desert agriculture close to the Gaza Strip

From there we drove south and spent two days on the Red Sea in Eilat

Jordanian mountains as seen from Eilat

Free Night at the Three Monkey's Bar in Eilat

Leaving Eilat, we stopped to see the Israel-Egypt Border

Egyptian Guards just across the border

First Hike

A night spent with the Bedouins

We saw other birthright groups wherever we went. Ahead of us on the camels is the U of Miami group.

From the Bedouin tent to Zfat

Day four or so we met up with the soldiers in Arad

Sun Going Down From Arad

Sun Coming Up From Masada

From Masada straight to the Dead Sea

Then to the Golan Heights to an old army base

We spent one night in the northern most Kibbutz in Israel right near the Lebanon border

Jerusalem for three days

At the Holocaust museum

The weirdest part of the trip, the "Mega Event". All the birthright groups in Israel at the time met up for a conference/dance party. Reminded me of a massive evangelical church in the midwest or something. Full of uncomfortable excitement and intense zionists.

Argentina Argentina Argentina

President of Israel spoke

Dancin' in the stands

At around 11 it turned into a nightclub full of Americans, Argentineans, Russians, and Brazilians

People Watching

Shawarma, the meal of choice for the trip. Like a Gyro but the meat inside is a mystery.

After Jaffa and before the flight back to Toronto we spent the day on the Mediterranean
